Les Bourgs Hospice is set to reap the benefits of Guernsey Electricity staff’s artistic endeavours from the sale of the company’s 2013 calendar.

Staff were asked to take scenic photos of the Bailiwick and submit their favourites to the competition.

The best were included in the 2013 charity calendar with all money raised going to the 30/30 cycle challenge in aid of Les Bourgs Hospice.

Over 60 photos were entered and included scenes from Soldiers Bay, Gouliot Caves in Sark and Vazon Bay.

The judges’ favourite photo, chosen as the front cover, was Pleinmont headland above Les Pezeries taken by electrical operations manager Dave Smart.

This is the second year Guernsey Electricity has organised the internal calendar competition.

Three thousand of last year’s calendar (which was based on the same theme) were sold which raised £607.00 for the Guernsey Lifeboat charity.

“The calendar competition is a great opportunity for staff to show off their creative photography skills in aid of a local charity,” said Annette Langlois, HR Officer at Guernsey Electricity.

“The competition creates a bit of friendly rivalry among staff which is fun and it’s all for a good cause.”

“All the money raised will go to Les Bourgs Hospice. We hope to raise a significant amount in the run up to Christmas to benefit this fantastic charity.”

The calendars can be purchased from the Guernsey Electricity reception for a minimum donation of £1.

All the money raised this year will go to the 30/30 cycle challenge in aid of Les Bourgs Hospice.
