Skills Guernsey employers’ workshop on 16 November 2012 to help people back to work

September 30th, 2012 by Skills Guernsey

Skills Guernsey has organised a workshop on ‘Supporting people into and back to work: How employers can help’ from 8.00 am to 9.30 am on Friday 16 November 2012 at the Coutanchez site of the Guernsey College of Further Education.

Guernsey is fortunate to have a relatively small unemployment problem, but there are people who are willing and able to work, who find themselves disadvantaged in some way – for example, people with disabilities, people recovering from long-term illness, those who have not worked for a long time.

Evidence shows that with a little support at the right time, these individuals can be successfully re-introduced to the workplace.

Skills Guernsey wishes to explore:

  • how to create more employment opportunities for those on the margins of work
  • how to engage the help of volunteer mentors, suitably trained, both within and external to organisations.

This session will be facilitated by Greg Yeoman, a Skills Guernsey business member, and Trevor Wakefield, Principal of the Guernsey College of Further Education.

Please email skillsguernsey @ or telephone 01481 733044 to register your interest in attending this workshop.
