Lihou Charitable Trust art auction to raise the roof

July 19th, 2012 by Lihou Charitable Trust

Lihou House needs a new roof, which will cost £60,000. The Lihou Charitable Trust has organised a number of events to raise the funds required including an auction of local artwork.

The Lihou Charitable Trust is displaying the local artwork at Le Friquet Garden Centre between Sunday the 16th and Saturday the 21st of July 2012.

About 100 pieces have been collected. There will be a silent bidding system for these pictures and the highest bidder will secure the artwork, with the funds going to the roof appeal.

The Lihou Charitable Trust would like the artwork to be ‘manned’ on Saturday the 21 July 2012. The Trust is asking for volunteers (or volunteers’ friends) who might be able to spare an hour of their time on Saturday. The timings are:

  • 9 am to 10 am
  • 10 am to 11 am
  • 11 am to 12 pm
  • 12 pm to 1 pm
  • 1 pm to 2 pm
  • 2 pm to 3 pm
  • 3 pm to 4 pm
  • 4 pm to 5 pm
  • 5 pm 6 pm

Please contact Denise Fawcett at fawcettden @ if you are able to donate an hour of your time.

After the ball, the Lihou Island house roof fund is currently at about £28,000, and with the £5000 raised from the 3 Peaks Challenge walk, Lihou Island Charitable Trust will have breached the half way mark.

The Trust hopes the art auction is a significant contributor to the roof appeal.

Please let all your friends and relatives know about it and come along to see the artwork and bid on it.
