Admiral de Saumarez Trust’s work at Delancey Park progressing well

July 6th, 2012 by The Admiral de Saumarez Trust

The Admiral de Saumarez Trust is a charitable organisation and Guernsey’s first Corporate and Social Responsibility Charitable Trust.

It aims to organise, coordinate and combine resources to support community and island wide regeneration projects.

Major plans for the regeneration of Delancey Park were announced in August 2010. Eighteen projects have been identified as part of more than £1 million investment in the area.

The new playground at the south end of the park will be divided into three areas for toddlers, juniors, and teenagers. An adult fitness area is also being developed. There will be a range of cardiovascular fitness equipment with resistance equipment as well.

The Admiral de Saumarez Trust have funded the play area but the responsibility will be handed over the States of Guernsey Culture and Leisure department to maintain and run.

There will also be an access community garden and an archaeological display, a new cafe, an all weather football pitch, renovation of changing rooms, and the reconstruction of the Delancey Monument.

More help is needed to please consider supporting the trust in its work to improve our community.
