Neil Gibson, Senior Consultant at Oxford Economics, will present the key findings of the Review of Guernsey’s Economic Profile and Assessment of Future Opportunities at a public presentation on Thursday, 29 March 2012 beginning at 5.30 pm in the Cambridge Room at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre, St Peter Port.

Mr. Gibson will answer questions after his presentation. The meeting should end at about 7 pm.

The Oxford Economics report was commissioned by the Policy Council’s Fiscal and Economic Policy Group and the Commerce and Employment Department.

The report analyses Guernsey’s current economic profile, potential future opportunities, and overall strategic direction in relation to economic policy.

It is intended that the report will form the basis of a consultation process in the new States term to inform the development of an economic development strategy, which will then be incorporated into the Fiscal and Economic Plan in the States Strategic Plan debate later in 2012.

This meeting will be particularly useful for stakeholders and members of the public who wish to find out more about this comprehensive independent review of the Island’s current position and the challenges it faces.
