Lobbying required to ensure investment in cycling facilities

August 22nd, 2011 by Environmental Transport Association

“It is important that Parliamentarians are seen to be promoting cycling.”

“If parliamentarians and other politicians around the country are showing that they cycle, they care about cycling, they want to promote cycling, that is when we will see a real shift in cycling culture in this country.”

“I think it is important for people in the cycling community and politicians to question and challenge transport ministers because transport ministers are the ones that are making policy.  They are the ones we are relying on to implement policy that we think is going to increase cycling levels.”

“It is our job to keep pressure on the government and to keep lobbying ministers to ensure that investment in cycling increases and that we can get more and more people on their bikes.”
