The Guernsey Botanical Trust, which runs the Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden in Saumarez Park, Castel plans to build The Gatehouse as part of their on-going restoration project.

The Trust, which is a Guernsey charity, receives no financial support from the Guernsey government.

It needs to raise £200,000 to build The Gatehouse, which will include a visitor and information centre, an education centre, a shop called La Choppe, a crew room for garden volunteers, and storage facilities for garden tools and equipment.

The Guernsey charity is holding a private lottery.  Five pounds Sterling buys a roof tile and enters the purchaser in a draw for the chance to win £1000.00.

The draw will be held at 4 p.m. on 9 December 2017 at the Victorian Christmas in the Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden in Saumarez Park, Castel, Guernsey.

The £5.00 numbered certificates for each roof tile for The Gatehouse Project can be purchased from La Choppe shop in the Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden, from members of the Guernsey Botanical Trust, and from the Guernsey Botanical Trust stand at St Peter Port Seafront Sundays.
