The family-orientated Rock to Rocque Bike Ride that raises much needed funds for Les Bourgs Hospice is on Sunday 24th May 2015.

The event sponsored by the Heritage Group has three starting points and starting times.

The majority of bike riders will begin at the top of Val des Terres at 8.45 a.m.  Please note that there is no parking at Val des Terres start point. It is a drop-off point only.

Cyclists can also start by Fort Grey (the Cup and Saucer) at 9.45 a.m. or cyclists can start at Grandes Rocques at 10.45 a.m.

All cyclists should finish at North Beach car park by 3 p.m. at the latest.

The Heritage Group recommends that you register on-line prior to the event to avoid queuing on the day. Pre-registration will be available until midnight on Thursday 21 May 2015.

Once pre-registration closes you can turn-up on the day before the start of the event to register in person.

Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop is donating two mountain bikes as prizes in a draw for any Rock to Rocque cyclist who raises more than £100 in sponsorship.

At the North Beach finish there will be a barbecue and Avenue Clinic will provide soft tissue massages.

In 2014, 1,120 cyclists participated in the Rock to Rocque Bike Ride and raised £40,000 for Les Bourgs Hospice.

The event coincides with the last day of Ian Brown’s 30/30 Cycle Challenge, which this year sees 76 cyclists taking part hoping to raise £50,000 for Les Bourgs Hospice.

Trish De Carteret, Fund-raising Administrator for Les Bourgs Hospice, said “Les Bourgs Hospice touches the lives of so many people in Guernsey.”

“This type of fund-raising event makes an essential contribution to our running costs.”

“We are extremely grateful to Heritage Group for supporting the event and to the tireless organising team. We are looking forward to great day.”
