The Guernsey Bicycle Group has organised a Bike Breakfast at St Emilion Restaurant on the St Peter Port waterfront beginning at 8 am on Monday 17 June 2013 to launch in Guernsey Bike Week which runs from 15 to 23 June.

Rollo de Sausmarez, Chairman of the Guernsey Bicycle Group, invites people to come to the breakfast by bike and bring a friend.

Bike Week 2013 is helping to get as many people as possible back on two wheels.

Olympic cycling success in 2012 inspired an additional 200,000 Britons to start cycling regularly, a third more than anticipated, and 2013 research has found that at least 40% of the British public now cycle.

Andre Curtis of Bike Week said that with the Olympic glory of last summer, and more cycling solutions for every budget, we anticipate that more people than ever will fall in love with cycling.

However, many people haven’t touched their bicycles for years and have no idea how to get it back in working order, while many simply don’t know where to start.

That’s where Bike Week is the perfect opportunity to talk to experts from Guernsey’s bicycle shops for advice, or be inspired by taking part in Guernsey Bicycle Group Summer evening rides on Tuesday evenings.

The Guernsey Bicycle Group summer evening rides all begin at 7 pm and occur over ten Tuesday evenings from 28 May 2013 to 30 July 2013.
