The sixth Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop 30in30 Challenges will be taking place again starting on Saturday 27 April 2013.

Most participants will ride their bikes for one hour each day over 30 consecutive days raising money for Les Bourgs Hospice, although some riders have stated they will cycle 30 miles per day, and rider who cycled 30 miles per day last year, is aiming to cycle 40 miles per day for 30 days this year.

Day one begins with a group breakfast at St Emilion Restaurant at 8.00 am.

The previous five challenges have raised a combined £282,454.

The target for this year is a further £50,000 and with this it is hoped to pass the one third of a million pounds raised for Les Bourgs Hospice since 2008.

Participants have each volunteered to ride their bicycles for an hour each day for the next 30 days and aims to get as much sponsorship as possible for Les Bourgs Hospice.

30in30 Cycle Challenge organiser Ian Brown of Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop said “Les Bourgs Hospice was formed fundraising activities have long been associated with cyclists and the Rocque to Rock bike ride.”

“We know of many individuals who cycle regularly who may be looking for a new challenge and this is why we came up with this idea.”

Each year the 30in30 Challengers have been recognisable for the Jersey each rider gets to wear during their challenge with white, blue, yellow, pink and green used in previous years.

This year’s colour is a bright orange and will make the riders visible all over the island and at all hours of the day.
