The annual bathtub race in aid of Channel Islands Airsearch, Guernsey Sailing Trust, and the RNLI takes place by the old lifeboat slipway by Boatworks+ and the Model Yacht Pond in St Peter Port harbour beginning at 11.30 am on Sunday 6 January 2013.
There are three categories of entry, which cost £10.00 per bathtub vessel.
If you have a bathtub vessel and wish to register for the races and have not yet done so please contact Jason Hobbs, Commodore of the Guernsey Yacht Club, on 722838 as soon as possible. Entry forms and rules for the competition are available at the Guernsey Yacht Club.
Vessel entries up to 10 am on the day of the race may be accepted.
Scrutineering of the bathtub entries to make sure they are safe takes place at 10.30 am before the race begins.
The Guernsey Yacht Club has two bathtub boats available for use for anyone who wishes to take part. These bathtub boats may need a little more buoyancy.
The bathtub race is great fun and a popular spectator sport for the whole family. Everyone is welcome to view the race. Crews of the RNLI and Channel Island Airsearch will be moving amongst the spectators with buckets to accept donations.
The race will last about 1/2 to 3/4 hour.
