UK Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker and CEO of UAE’s Masdar, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, announced a new roundtable for the world’s largest public and private sector investors in low carbon industries.

The meeting, to be held on 14 January 2013 during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, aims to scale up investment to combat climate change in developing economies.

Speaking at the recent Doha climate change conference, Minister Barker said “alongside the formal negotiations that took place in Doha, there was a formidable amount of informal discussion around how to mobilise at scale the private finance needed to tackle climate change.”

“I’m excited to announce with Masdar our convening of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds and development banks to work on this important agenda in 2013.”
