Still time to buy Les Bourgs Million Pound Lottery tickets before draw on 13 October 2012

September 20th, 2012 by Les Bourgs Hospice

Half of the 5,000 tickets for the Les Bourgs Million Pound Lottery have now been sold.

In early September 2012, the Les Bourgs Million Pound Lottery organisers announced that Guernsey islanders could join impromptu syndicates for the £300 tickets in order to boost sales.

“Sales weren’t going as well as we had expected but since we introduced the idea of the impromptu syndicates, where islanders can pay £30 and win up to £100,000, ticket sales have been going really well,” said Jack Honeybill, chairman of the Friends of Les Bourgs.

“Once again, islanders have rallied round to support us and their generosity is simply amazing. We’re looking forward to changing lots of lives in a few weeks time,” he said.

The draw, which is due to take place on World Hospice Day 13 October 2012, will see five prizes being drawn ranging from £10,000 up to £1 million.

From next week, tickets will be on sale at NatWest in the High Street, St Peter Port every weekday from 10 am until 2 pm.

“We want to try and make it as easy as possible for people to take part and with so many people working in St Peter Port, it seemed sensible to have a presence there every day from Monday to Friday.”

“They can either buy a whole ticket for £300, join up with friends and family and buy a ticket as a syndicate, or join one of the impromptu syndicates for £30,” Mr Honeybill said.

Tickets will also be on sale at Les Bourgs Hospice on Sundays from 10 am until 1 pm, at Les Bourgs shop on the Bridge from 10 am until 2 pm on Mondays and Thursdays and until 4.30 pm every other day, and at Le Friquet Garden Centre from 10 am until 2 pm on Saturdays.
