Spearpoint to donate 30 November trading commissions to Guernsey charity

September 27th, 2012 by Spearpoint

For one day in November 2012 the Guernsey stockbroking division of Spearpoint Limited has pledged to donate their trading commissions to a nominated local charity as part of its on-going commitment to supporting the community.

The business, which is already involved with a number of different projects, sports teams and events, will donate all of the commission it earns on all trades carried out on 30 November 2012 to one local charity, which is to be chosen at random from nominations made by clients, friends and members of the public.

On 30 November 2012 markets around the world will be open as usual and Spearpoint expect to be able to make a meaningful contribution to a local cause.

Matt Watson, Head of Stockbroking at Spearpoint in Guernsey, said “many of our staff are actively involved in supporting local organisations, whether they are charities, sports teams or community events.”

“We want to expand that commitment and, as a whole team, make a big difference for a local charity that we, together with our clients and friends, feel will derive the maximum benefit from this initiative. We would also like to thank our clients whose instructions on the day itself will help us raise funds for a worthwhile cause.”

Members of the public who would like to nominate a charity to benefit from the Spearpoint Stockbroking Day on 30 November 2012 should send their suggestions to matt.watson @ spearpoint.com by 5 pm on 12 November 2012.

The chosen charity will be selected at random and announced a few days later.
