UK photovoltaic installations increased by approximately 800 MW of capacity in 2011, increasing the UK’s overall capacity to more than 1 GW.

The UK Government, working alongside industry, realises the potential of solar energy, and has set a goal of 22 GW of installed capacity for the UK by 2020.

Solar Power UK’s half-day seminar series running alongside the exhibition will cover these developments that are affecting the UK solar and renewable installer market today.

Seminars in the PV hall, will look at the UK market, and uncover how the solar industry can work towards the 22 GW ambition using the new and improved feed-in tariff mechanism.

Seminars will also cover the latest accreditation requirements, product pricing, and best practice strategies for marketing and selling photovoltaic systems to consumers.

Solar specialists will discuss the market outlook, policy updates and future expectations, as well as showcasing various projects.

The Green Solutions Programme will include a focus on the new Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) requirements, outlining what needs to be done to bring a UK building up to level D.

Key speakers will talk through the different whole house solutions available in the UK market, while explaining how these can work in partnership with solar energy.

The Solar Business programme will be dedicated to news topics shaping the solar energy industry.

Sessions will explore the revival of large-scale solar PV and the role investors and developers play, local authority projects, finance mechanisms, project tendering, and legal requirements for solar PV and thermal technology.
