Now in its sixth year, the event showcases the Autumn/Winter collection from the bi-annual catalogue of Traidcraft, which is the UK’s largest fair trade organisation.

This includes a large range of gifts, jewellery and accessories, household goods and Christmas décor.

“We order in almost every item in the catalogue so guests can see the products first-hand. There is a tremendous amount of gifts and festive décor, along with cards and wrapping paper, making this a perfect opportunity for those who want to get ready for the Christmas season while giving a better deal for developing countries,” said Phil Soulsby, managing director of Mondomundi.

The evenings will also feature a free raffle – with the chance to win shopping vouchers – along with refreshments and the opportunity to sample items from the fair trade food range. Not only will attendees get to preview the new range, those who place orders on the night will be entitled to a 10% discount.

“We want to give people the incentive to order early so we can assure that we can meet the demand that we see over the Christmas period, but it is also a chance to try and introduce more people to shopping fair trade,” said Mr Soulsby.

Mondomundi is part of The Mundi Group, a business dedicated to promoting fair trade and sustainable living.

Since its establishment in 2005, the group has seen rapid growth in its operating activities, which include retail, wholesale and financial services.

We are a “not JUST for profit” company. The business exists to make a profit, but, much more importantly, it exists to make a difference.

The shareholders and directors share a common belief that it is unsustainable for the “developed world” to continue to abuse its position and financial muscle at the expense of small farmers and producers all over the world in the quest for maximum profit. Likewise we cannot continue to pollute and ravage the planet without serious consequences.

The Mundi Group has endeavoured to make alternative products, which are ethically sourced, more widely available.

Mondomundi is dedicated to Fair Trade and comprises our retail chain of stores as well as our online shop.

The on-line shop, established in 2006,  is our largest division, and is at the core of our business.

Mondomundi is a member of BAFTS, the British Association for Fair Trade Shops.

Apart from the stores, we have own Fair Trade products certified by the Fairtrade Foundation.

The Mondomundi Foundation is a charitable trust created by the founders of The Mundi Group and is financed from the profits of the Group, as well as through charitable donations.

The principal objectives of the Foundation are to improve the educational opportunities for children in the developing world.
