WildGuernsey is holding a Beginners Scythe Course in St Pierre du Bois from 10 am to about 4 pm on 8 September 2012.

The course is led by experienced mower and scythe teacher Philip Batten of the Dyfed Permaculture Farm Trust in south west Wales.

The Scythe is the ideal tool for use in the garden or in the smallholding. It can mow a lawn, cut hay, top weeds, control brambles, and it is more versatile from a strimmer.

This hands-on course is taught using the Austrian style scythe, which is lighter and easier to use then its English counterpart. All tools are provided. If you enjoy using the scythe, there will be scythes for sale at the end of the day.

The course costs £70 (£55 low wage/concession). To book or for more information please call 07813 464990 or email scytheguernsey @ yahoo.co.uk or visit the website.
