Swoffers, Guernsey’s largest estate agent, has promised to pledge 40 hours of their time to local charity as part of a number of events to celebrate 40 years in business,

Swoffers wants to find the best way for their whole team to lend a helping hand to the community.

“After considering many different ways to celebrate 40 years in business in Guernsey we decided one thing we want to do is help a local charity.”

“We know there are a lot of charities out there who have a number of different projects they would love to complete but a lack of time and funding stops them from doing so – giving their building a fresh lick of paint, clearing and up-grading an outdoor space, or simply giving time to a worthy cause, these are the kinds of things we could assist them with,” said Managing Director Matthew Henry.

“There are so many deserving local charities in the Island we will find it very tough to make a decision, however we have decided to pledge the time to just one or two charities so we can really achieve something worthwhile, whether it be one or two big projects or a number of smaller ones” he added.

This is not the first time Swoffers have dedicated their time and hard work to a local charity.

Last year eight members of the company completed the Three Peaks Challenge climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours, raising a total of £18,000 for Les Bourgs Hospice in the process.

Swoffers has raised in excess of £100,000 for Les Bourgs during an association lasting over 15 years.

“Raising so much money and completing the 3 Peaks Challenge was a huge achievement and very rewarding for us. We can’t wait to get started on a new project which will involve the entire team,” said Mr Henry.

Local Charities looking for help with any projects big or small are invited to come forward and nominate themselves by either filling out an online application form or collecting a form from Swoffers reception and returning it before the 15 August 2012.

Swoffers will then be faced with the difficult task of selecting which local charity or charities to donate their time and funding to.
