The fundraiser, which is sponsored by Investec Specialist Bank, is described as the spectacular musical of musicals.
The evening show will take place at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts on Friday 21 September 2012.
‘Back to Broadway’ tells the story of a young girl’s dream to reach stardom on the stage through a host of songs from different musicals around the globe and over the past decade.
“YPG has commissioned Barnardo’s to provide a vital resource in the island for many young people, which is why we are pleased to be supporting this charity’s efforts. At Investec we do not want to just provide financial backing, we want to help the community in a number of ways and so some of our staff have also given up their time to help organise this event,” said head of Investec Specialist Bank in the Channel Islands Stephen Henry.
YPG is a Guernsey charity established in 2011 to identify and respond to the needs of young people in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, particularly those at risk.
In March this year the organisation signed a deal with UK charity giant Barnardo’s to open an information, advice and guidance centre for 11-to-16-year-olds in St Peter Port.
“We are delighted that Investec is sponsoring this fantastic event and the proceeds will go straight towards the sustainability of our centre and the Barnardo’s service for the island’s youngsters,” said YPG chairwoman Jane St Pier.
Within six months of launching YPG had raised enough money to cover the cost of running the centre for one year. The centre will be formally launched on Friday 7 September 2012.
Tickets for the main auditorium are £55 and £25 for the balcony.
The cabaret evening on 21 September starts at 7 pm and will include an auction.
Aurigny is the travel sponsor.
