ITEX committee ask walkers to pay in sponsorship money asap

July 3rd, 2012 by ITEX

Monies have been coming in following another successful Itex-Rotary around the island walk which took place on 9 June 2012.

Organisers collected around £20,000 on the day of the walk and since then sponsorship money has been arriving daily and now totals £43,000.

Richard Parker – Chairman of the organising committee is delighted with the results so far.

He said “we are certainly ahead of where we were this time last year and so I am hopeful that we could equal or even beat the 2011 total of £53,000.”

Funds will be distributed to the selected charities at a presentation evening due to be held on 25 September 2012.

This year the event is being held at Government House following a kind invitation by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor who took part in this year’s walk.

The committee would urge any walkers to get their sponsorship money in as soon as possible.

“There is definitely still money to come in,” Mr. Parker said.

“We would ask walkers to chase up their sponsorship cash and to let us have it as soon as they can so that we know exactly how much we are able to donate to each of our charities.”

“It would be great to break last year’s record.”
