Local children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent is organising a Guernsey fashion show as its next fundraiser.
The event will take place on 4 August 2012 at The Royal Court, St Peter Port and amongst the models will be some of the children currently fighting cancer from throughout the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
The evening will showcase men, women and children’s clothes from a variety of local boutiques for all ages.
In the interval there will be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, including vouchers to spend at Waitrose.
Everyone that attends the event will receive champagne on arrival courtesy of Investec Bank, along with canapés, a goodie bag and entry into the raffle.
Saffery Champness’ staff has been helping to organise the event alongside volunteers from the charity.
Joe Smale, a trust officer and member of the CLIC committee, is involved in the planning.
“We have been having a great time getting our ideas together for the fashion show and it’s fantastic to know that we are doing it for such a great cause.”
“There’s still lots to do but it’s going to be a really fun night so I hope people turn out to support the charity,” he said.
Belinda Netherton, chairman of CLIC Sargent Guernsey, hopes to improve on last year’s event.
“Last year’s event was a sell-out and we had so much fun. With the support of Saffery I hope that we can make this year even better.”
“It’s great to able to include the children that we support, they really enjoy the experience and it gets them away from their daily routines of treatment and recovery,” she said.
CLIC Sargent is a national charity that helps children with cancer and their families.
The local branch of the charity supports Bailiwick children on-island and in the UK.
Tickets for the event are priced at £25 and are available from Joe Smale at Saffery Champness on 01481 721374 or email joe.smale @ saffery.gg or telephone Belinda Netherton on 01481 264260.
