Town and Farmers’ markets offer an appeal and pleasure not provided by supermarkets. Perhaps it’s the freshest of the locally produced food that is not heavily packaged, or its the relationship developed with the food producer and seller that provides a delightful shopping experience.
The Fresh Friday Market takes place in Market Square, St Peter Port every Friday from about 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. The market is generating a pleasant atmosphere where people can enjoy cooked or prepared food on a nearby bench.
Sonia Taylor of Bailiwick Estates Ltd is president of the Fresh Friday Initiative, which aims to bring a market atmosphere back to Market Square in the centre of Town.
Guernsey food and flower producers are invited to contact the Fresh Friday Initiative to arrange to set-up a stall in Market Square on Friday morning.
Stalls can have access to electricity and running water.
To find out how to get involved call Sonia on 714243 or 07781 163666 or email freshfriday @ marketplaceguernsey.co.uk
