Ride a mountain bike on 7 July 2012 to fund raise for male cancer charity

June 23rd, 2012 by Male Uprising in Guernsey

Join MUG on Saturday 7 July 2012 to raise money for local male cancer sufferers.

Get sponsored to ride 12 Guernsey coastal miles and come to our Party in Saumarez Park, Castel.

Up to 900 people will be able to ride on a route that has never been used before. The course is unique with 95% of it being off-road.

It begins at Vale Castle, round to Bordeaux, L’Ancresse, Rousse, Grandes Rocques, and for one time only the La Mare nature trail up to Saumarez Park. The journey will take no more than two hours.

To add an additional challenge, nine man-made mountain bike obstacles have been especially built for this ride. The obstacles include a giant see-saw, shark’s teeth and 5 metre zigzags.

Children are welcome (aged 7 and up) to participate in the leisurely two-hour family ride.

The after-party in Saumarez Park will have music, entertainment and refreshments for all.

Please enter the mountain bike ride online on the MUG website or please pick-up a sponsorship form from Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop.

The entry fee is £20 for adults and £10 for children.

“Over 37,400 men across the United Kingdom will be diagnosed with a male-specific cancer in 2012; from sons to grandfathers all men face a potential risk.”
