Fiduciary firm Saffery Champness CLIC Sargent cancer charity ally

June 21st, 2012 by Saffery Champness

Local fiduciary firm Saffery Champness is to partner with children’s cancer support charity CLIC Sargent.

The partnership will involve Saffery staff help raise awareness and fund raising, both during and outside of work hours.

They will also assist with developing the local website, producing the annual accounts and use their network of contacts to support the cause.

CLIC Sargent is a national charity that helps children with cancer and their families. The local branch of the charity supports Bailiwick children on-island and in the UK.

They raise funds for CLIC Haven, a ‘home from home’ which offers free accommodation to families while their children are undergoing treatment at Southampton General Hospital.

Chairman of CLIC’s local branch Belinda Netherton looks forward to the partnership developing.

“All of the local CLIC team are volunteers and whilst we are dedicated to the charity there is always more that can be done.

“Having Saffery support us, not just financially but with manpower, is going to make such a huge difference. It’s fantastic that they have decided to use their skills to help us and the children,” she said.

Kelvin Hudson, Managing Director of Saffery Champness in Guernsey, hopes the partnership will be mutually beneficial.

“Saffery has a history of charitable involvement through direct sponsorship and in matching all staff fundraising. We were looking to develop a CSR partnership this year.”

“We are celebrating our 35th year in Guernsey and it is important for the business to play an active role in the wider community. We hope that we will be able to raise the profile of this excellent cause which is doing great things for families in the Bailiwick,” he said.
