A team of 13 Fusion Nightclub and Luna Bar women took part in the Race for Life on Sunday 27 May 2012 and raised over £1000 for Cancer Research UK.

The team walked and jogged the five kilometres route from Footes lane through Saumarez Park and back in just over an hour.

Team Fusion organiser Emilie Le Page said the team was over the moon with the amount raised.

“Fusion and Luna customers have been so generous; we’ve been collecting donations over the past few weekends and people have been really supportive as they appreciate the great work that Cancer Research UK does,” she said.

“The Race for Life is the perfect opportunity for all the girls to come together and have fun while raising money for a great charity – we all had a brilliant time taking part.”

The ladies were also joined on the race by the newest edition to the Fusion Nightclub team, Office Puppy. The four month old Cavalier Chihuahua cross also donned the team’s fancy dress of bright pink leg warmers.

Race for Life is the UK’s biggest fund-raising event in the fight against cancer and the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. Since Race for Life started in 1994, six million participants have raised over £457 million.

Fusion Nightclub and Luna Bar are currently searching for a Guernsey charity partner for 2012/2013. Fusion Nightclub and Luna Bar staff would help to help raise, volunteer for the charity, and provide resources that the charity might need.

Any charities interested are asked to send a short summary of their charity, their needs and the help they are looking for to Mr Burroughs at Luna/Fusion before 18 June 2012. Please send all applications to info @ fusion.gg.
