Les Bourgs carol service at Les Cotils on 11 December 2011 to celebrate and remember loved ones

December 7th, 2011 by Les Bourgs Hospice

A SPECIAL carol service to celebrate and remember loved ones has once again been organised by Les Bourgs Hospice.

The Light Up A Life service is a popular event in the Les Bourgs Hospice calendar and raises much-needed funds for the running of the facility, which provides care to those who are terminally ill.

Islanders are being asked to sponsor a light on the Les Bourgs Christmas trees as a way of celebrating and remembering those who are special.

‘Christmas is traditionally a time of joy and happiness as we come together with family and friends but it is also a time when the hole left by those who are no longer here is felt more than ever.

The Light Up A Life carol service is a wonderful opportunity for people to come together and remember loved ones who are no longer here to share this very special time of year,’ said Jack Honeybill, chair of the Friends of Les Bourgs, which organises the service.

Forms to sponsor a light have been delivered by newsagents and also available from the Les Bourgs Hospice shops in Mont Arrive and Smith Street in St Peter Port, and on the Bridge in St. Sampson.

The service, which will be lead by the Reverend Carol Holmes, takes place in the Harry Bound Room at Les Cotils Christian Centre on Sunday 11 December 2011 and begins at 6.30 pm. Mince pies and non-alcoholic punch will be served from 5.45 pm and there will also be a performance by Johnny’s Angels.
