Guernsey Electricity installed a new set of lights in the centre’s lounge, kitchen and office area along with a number of electrical sockets for computers and a large television in the hall.

Vince Smith, commercial contracting manager at Guernsey Electricity, was pleased to help replace the lights for the centre.

“The old lights were very dim and noisy which was very distracting for those wanting to read or watch television in the centre. The new lights are a real improvement as they’re brighter, quieter and more energy efficient.”

David Bichard of the Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association Centre said: “Guernsey Electricity has done an excellent job and the centre is very grateful to the electricians for completing the work and to ES&M for providing the new lights fittings.

“Replacing the lights may seem like a small improvement, but it really will make a huge difference for those using the centre.”

The Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association Centre at Delancey Park is devoted entirely to the care and assistance of people with dementia and their carers and loved ones in Guernsey and the Bailiwick.

Care afternoons take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 pm until 5 pm and a lunch is held at the centre on the third Thursday of every month.
