Guernsey’s Limegreen Buildings offers sustainable building solutions

July 21st, 2011 by Stuart Ogier

Guernsey Granite Ltd., going under the banner Design Build, offers design, project management and construction services to clients in the public and private sector.

The company produces ecologically sustainable, natural buildings using a conscientious approach from design to finishing touches.  It can deliver energy efficient, beautiful, breathable, natural and healthy living spaces.

The company uses life cycle analysis to consider where building materials come from, their embodied energy (production, transportation and placement), and how this may be offset in the performance of the material (thermal efficiency, longevity and limiting off-gassing) and how easily the building can be reused, recycled and composted.

Using methods which aim to maximise the use of local, organic, reclaimed and reused materials within construction, Limegreen Buildings tackles ecological new-builds and sympathetically converts, conserves, and restores existing buildings. The company specialises in the use and application of natural lime in buildings.  It can supply traditional lime putty and ecological plaster.

The company has experience of PassivHaus standards, straw bale buildings, and cob.

Guernsey Granite Ltd. is a member of the AECB (The Sustainable Building Association), and a shareholder of Llammas Eco village.
