The evening of 26 July was warm and almost cloudless. The countryside glowed in the golden rays of evening sunlight.
The Guernsey Bicycle Group summer evening rides reveal Guernsey’s countryside at its best – the countryside looked ravishing.
Red admiral butterflies flittered across our path, and bell-shaped white Convolvulus flowers unfurled in the hedgerows.

The bicycle provides freedom to explore Guernsey’s most beautiful vistas at an appropriate pace.
The bicycle is the best vehicle to stop quickly and take an opportune photograph. Out of curiosity, this Guernsey cow walked towards an opening in the bracken to say hello.
Rupert Dorey stopped frequently at junctions so the group kept together.

The Guernsey Bicycle Group summer evening rides prove time and again the pleasure of bicycling in Guernsey. The more one bicycles, the more one wishes to, as the feeling of freedom, and the benefits of good spirit and good health manifest themselves.

As always, a lovely reminder of the event. Thanks Richard. The rides demonstrate how cycling makes an excellent form of transport for Guernsey and one which allows us to see and feel the beautiful scenery that we are fortunate enough to live amongst.
