On Sunday morning, 17 April 2011, The Guernsey Botanical Trust hosts ‘Seedy Sunday’ – the second annual seed swap – within the walls of the Victorian kitchen garden in Saumarez Park, Castel.

Trust volunteers are providing a bank of seeds in readiness to swap with anyone and everyone who comes along with their own seed offerings.

Ivan Le Tissier, Trustee for the Guernsey Botanical Trust, is hoping for a good turn out for this event.  “Between 9 am and 12 pm I hope to see lots of gardeners coming along to see us,” he said.

“This year we are charging just £2 admission, which will include a selection of heritage seeds so that the event can raise some funds and so that everyone can go home with much more for the coming season.”

“Alongside the swap we are holding a mini-market of table sales including an expert advice table, preserves and the very earliest produce from our Victorian walled garden this season, so there are lots of reasons for people to come along .”
