Employment opportunity for biology or geography undergraduates or graduates in Jersey

March 7th, 2011 by Environment Guernsey

Phase 1 Habitat Survey of Jersey

Environment Guernsey which runs the Guernsey Biological Records Centre has been contracted by the States of Jersey to undertake a Phase 1 Habitat Survey of the island having completed one of Guernsey in 2010.

We need individuals with an interest in geography or natural history to undertake the work on a seasonal basis. This will involve some computer work on a GIS system using aerial photographs of the island to prepare habitat and boundary layers and extensive fieldwork using Pocket PCs checking habitats, recording field boundaries and making field notes.

Full training will be given. At the end of the job you will know Jersey much better than most!

This project would be suitable for Biology or Geography undergraduates or graduates in the vacations and would look good on a CV.

It would also suit anybody wishing to do full time work over late spring, summer and autumn.  Contact 01481 715799 or email gsybiorec @ cwgsy.net for further details.
