Renewable energy to be topic at C.I. Group of Professional Engineers lecture on 4 May 2011

Dr. Andrew Casebow and Professor Nicholas Day will speak at the CIGPE after-dinner presentation at the Duke of Richmond Hotel on “Opportunities for Renewable Energy in Guernsey.”

The dinner begins at 6.30 pm and the presentation begins at 8 pm on 4 May 2011.  For information on the dinner and the lecture please contact the CIGPE.  The lecture is free to attend.

Dr Casebow and Professor Day work with the Guernsey Renewable Energy Commission on the development of marine energy in Guernsey.

They are preparing an ‘Environmental Assessment’ of off-shore wind energy in Guernsey territorial waters.

Their presentation will include an investigation of Anaerobic Digestion of waste to produce an energy source in the form of methane.  Anaerobic digestion is being investigated as part of the public consultation into Guernsey’s solid waste strategy.
