Jersey holds candlelight vigil for outcome of Cancún climate change talks

December 8th, 2010 by Maria Barnicoat

Please come and join Jersey Climate Action Network (J-CAN) and Jersey in Transition (JiT) at a candlelight vigil for our environment beginning at 4.30 pm on Saturday 11 December 2010.   We meet at 4:30 pm at the side of BHS in Don Street, St Helier, Jersey.

There will be some drumming beforehand, in honour of our commitments and desires to support and create a sustainable life in Jersey.  We will enjoy the energising beats for about 30 minutes.  Then there will be two minutes of silence as we stand in a circle with our candles holding our thoughts and intentions in mind.

This occasion comes on the last day of the environmental talks in Cancún, Mexico.  Although we have no idea how these talks will conclude, we want to show our support for any good work that is being done for our immediate environment and the Earth as a whole.

We recommend that you bring candles in glass jars so that they are shielded from any wind. And do wrap up warm :)
