Guernsey Charity Shops wants merchandise in good, saleable condition

May 24th, 2010 by admin

Communicate – The Shop on The Bridge wishes to receive merchandise that is in a good, saleable condition. The Shop stocks furniture, bric-a-brac, CDs, videos, DVDs, video games, clothing, toys and books.

If The shop receives items that are in poor condition and cannot be sold the shop has the expense of disposing of the material, which reduces the amount of money available for charity. The Shop asks donors not to leave items on the doorstep when the shop is closed.

Communicate – The shop recycles what they can of the goods they receive that are not saleable but it takes volunteer staff time to sort.  If the items cannot be recycled The Shop has to pay the cost of disposable.

All charity shops appreciate very much the donation of goods that can be sold so that money can be raised for charity.  Please do not burden them with non-sellable or non-recyclable items.  If in doubt visit them during opening hours.
