March 12th, 2010 by Richard Lord

Natural England has produced a 56 page report “Lost Life: England’s Lost and Threatened Species” to coincide with the International Year of Biodiversity.  The report identifies nearly 500 animals and plants that have become extinct in England in the last 200 years or so.

The report highlights the main impacts of biodiversity loss: habitat loss, invasive species, pollution and inappropriate management.
